With expertise spanning fundraising, research, donor relations, and community engagement, we work together to make a meaningful impact.

  • Executive Director

    Lindsay Burnham, CFRE, is the Executive Director of the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, with over 23 years of experience in the health charity sector.

    A Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), Lindsay has led strategic fundraising initiatives, corporate partnerships, and awareness campaigns, securing vital funding for diabetes research and patient care.

    Her expertise includes donor relations, event planning, and program development. Driven by personal and professional motivations, Lindsay remains dedicated to improving lives and advancing the search for a cure.

    Mickey joined the Alberta Diabetes Foundation as Philanthropy Manager in January 2024, overseeing relationships with major donors and supporting fundraising initiatives.

    With over 20 years of experience in philanthropy, he has led successful projects in Alberta’s business, arts, and community sectors. He holds diplomas from NAIT and MacEwan University.

    Mickey enjoys classical music, gardening, hiking, and exploring different cultures in his free time.

    Hardik oversees the foundation’s financial and operational strategy, ensuring resources are managed effectively to maximize impact.

    His experience in nonprofit financial management and operational planning allows the foundation to remain transparent and efficient while supporting vital research initiatives.

    Melissa Perez Casillas joined the Alberta Diabetes Foundation as Marketing Specialist, bringing expertise in content creation, social media, SEO, and graphic design.

    With experience at Rapid Boost Marketing and Mediashaker, she developed strategic content to enhance brand visibility and engagement. Melissa holds a diploma in Arts and Cultural Management from MacEwan University.

    Her personal connection to diabetes fuels her passion for driving impactful research and outreach through her work.

    Brandy Burns is ADF's Administration Coordinator. Brandy has many years of experience in administration, office management, event planning and working with Canadian nonprofit organizations. Brandy loves Alberta and has lived here all her life. Between her experience and being a seasoned Edmontonian, she looks forward to being a resource and dot connector for people who reach out to ADF for assistance navigating diabetes. 

    When she is not working, Brandy spends time with her family and friends, learning new recipes (she loves potlucks), and visiting her absolute favourite place, Dillberry Lake, Alberta.
